The Challenge
Implementing a sophisticated global transfer pricing engine.
We worked with an FTSE 50 consumer products company looking to implement a sophisticated global transfer pricing engine to manage intercompany operations at scale.
While a global systems integrator had been engaged to deliver the technical implementation, the programme faced a critical gap: bridging the complexity of tax, finance, and operational requirements with the realities of system design and data readiness.
Providing the missing link
We worked alongside the client and their systems integrator to translate business requirements into actionable design decisions, ensuring the solution reflected the true complexity of global intercompany flows.
Our role focused on connecting the dots across tax, finance, and technology – challenging assumptions, clarifying requirements, and guiding the programme through areas of ambiguity and risk.
As the programme evolved, our scope expanded upstream. We helped the client:
- Reframe process structure, identifying where upstream processes needed to be strengthened to support downstream automation
- Design pragmatic data cleansing and enrichment approaches to improve the quality and usability of inputs
- Introduce complementary tools at the edges to address gaps not covered by the core platform
- Enhance reporting and transparency, enabling more agile, insight-driven outputs for both internal stakeholders and external tax authorities
The Solution
Offering functional transfer pricing
A more robust, business-aligned programme for our client, bringing together deep functional understanding and integration to ensure their investment delivered meaningful, real-world outcomes.
“Lots of people talk and theorise about what could possibly be done with tech (or they push pre-existing solutions), but you guys just listen to my problem - you think about it, and then you mock something up to show me what's possible. This makes it so real and is very refreshing"
